Aizawl, April 24, 2026: The Mizoram State Project Monitoring Committee (MSPMC) has decided that Heads of Departments who fail to properly follow MSPMC recommendations will be summoned before the committee to provide clarification. The decision was discussed during a meeting held at the Planning & Programme Implementation Department Conference Hall.

Officials said the move aims to ensure stronger accountability and effective implementation of government projects. Departments that do not comply with the committee’s recommendations may be called to explain their actions before the committee.
During the meeting, the Chief Minister appreciated the work of MSPMC, stating that the committee’s initiatives have produced significant results. He thanked the members for their efforts and encouraged them to continue working diligently.

According to the committee, MSPMC monitored 82 projects during the 2025–26 financial year, including 66 new projects, while 16 previously inspected projects were revisited to assess progress.
Members also discussed improving monitoring systems for the new financial year, including better planning of field visits, wider dissemination of MSPMC activities, and stronger collaboration with media to enhance transparency.
