Aizawl, April 23: Mizoram Governor General (Dr) Vijay Kumar Singh (Retd) on Wednesday met students of Shalom Special School, Serchhip, at the Durbar Hall of Lok Bhavan in Aizawl during their ongoing study tour.
The students are visiting several cities including Aizawl, Silchar, Shillong, and Cherrapunji as part of a study tour organised by the Serchhip Battalion of Assam Rifles from April 13 to 23, 2026.
During the interaction, the Governor appreciated the initiative taken by the Assam Rifles to organise the tour, stating that such exposure helps students gain new experiences and broaden their learning beyond the classroom.
He also commended the teachers and parents for their dedication in nurturing and caring for the students. The Governor expressed hope that the tour would bring positive learning outcomes and contribute to the development of the students of Shalom Special School.
The Governor further encouraged Assam Rifles officials to continue supporting the school and its activities in the future.
