Sikkim CM Prem Singh Tamang Reviews Preparations Ahead of PM Modi’s Visit

Gangtok, April 23: Sikkim Chief Minister Prem Singh Tamang-Golay on Wednesday conducted a comprehensive inspection of key venues and reviewed preparations ahead of the scheduled visit of Prime Minister Narendra Modi to the state. The review was aimed at ensuring that all arrangements are in place for the Prime Minister’s programmes and that the events are conducted smoothly and efficiently.

The Chief Minister was accompanied by state ministers, Members of the Legislative Assembly (MLAs), Chief Secretary, Director General of Police (DGP), secretaries of various departments, political secretaries, and other senior government officials during the inspection. The team visited designated venues where the Prime Minister is expected to participate in official programmes and assessed the readiness of infrastructure and support facilities.

Officials informed that the inspection focused on evaluating security arrangements, logistical planning, venue preparedness, crowd management, transportation, and coordination among various departments involved in organising the visit. The Chief Minister reviewed the progress of ongoing works and sought updates from officials responsible for different aspects of the preparations.

During the inspection, Tamang issued detailed instructions to the concerned departments to ensure that all pending works are completed well before the Prime Minister’s arrival. He emphasised the need for meticulous planning, timely execution, and seamless coordination among departments to guarantee the successful conduct of the visit.

Highlighting the significance of the Prime Minister’s visit to Sikkim, the Chief Minister directed officials to maintain the highest standards of security and administrative efficiency. The review concluded with the Chief Minister expressing confidence in the state administration’s preparedness while urging all departments to work in close coordination to ensure the visit proceeds without any inconvenience. He reiterated that every effort should be made to present Sikkim in the best possible manner during the Prime Minister’s visit.
