Imphal, March 2: Manipur Chief Minister Yumnam Khemchand Singh has reiterated the state government’s commitment to healing, rebuilding and ensuring long-term peace and security for every citizen of Manipur.

The Chief Minister made the statement during a meeting with representatives of Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) at the CM Secretariat, where discussions focused on the needs and requirements of displaced families residing in relief camps across valley districts.
Sharing details of the meeting, Singh stated that detailed deliberations were held regarding the safe and dignified resettlement of IDPs from Moreh, Churachandpur and Kangpokpi who are yet to return home. He reaffirmed that their resettlement remains a top priority and that necessary steps are being carefully examined to ensure long-term security and stability.

For families already resettled, the Chief Minister reviewed measures to strengthen rehabilitation, livelihood support and overall welfare to enable them to rebuild their lives with confidence and dignity.
Earlier in the day, Singh also chaired a comprehensive review meeting with MLAs and senior officials of the Public Health Engineering Department (PHED) on the New Development Bank (NDB)-assisted Water Supply Project.
He stated that priority is being given to the construction and upgradation of water supply systems, including elevated service reservoirs and extensive distribution networks, to ensure safe and equitable drinking water access across urban, semi-urban and rural areas of the state.
Reaffirming the government’s broader development vision, the Chief Minister said the state remains steadfast in strengthening public infrastructure and improving quality of life as part of the journey towards a “Viksit Manipur” and “Viksit Bharat 2047.”
