Churachandpur, March 2: Manipur Deputy Chief Minister Losii Dikho on Monday assured all possible assistance from the state government to the family of late BJP MLA Vungzagin Valte.

Dikho visited Valte’s residence in Churachandpur district headquarters, where he met the bereaved family members, including his wife and sons. As a mark of respect, he presented a traditional shawl to honour the deceased Zomi legislator.

Valte, the MLA from Thanlon constituency, had sustained severe injuries during a mob attack in Imphal’s Nagamapal area in the early days of the ethnic unrest in Manipur. He passed away on February 21 at a private hospital in Gurugram.

During his visit, Dikho also met representatives of the Zomi Coordination Committee (ZCC) at the Paite Tribe Conference Hall. Discussions were held regarding the demands raised by the committee and issues related to ensuring justice for the late MLA’s family.

Speaking to the media, the Deputy Chief Minister reiterated that he had come to express condolences and assured that the government would extend all possible support to the bereaved family.
