Churachandpur, March 2: Manipur Deputy Chief Minister Losii Dikho on Monday visited the residence of late BJP MLA Vungzagin Valte in Churachandpur district and assured the bereaved family of the State Government's full support during their time of grief.

During the visit, Dikho met the late legislator's family members, including his wife and sons, and conveyed his heartfelt condolences on behalf of the Government of Manipur. As a mark of respect, he offered a traditional shawl in honour of the departed leader and paid tribute to Valte's years of dedicated public service.
Vungzagin Valte, the MLA representing Thanlon Assembly Constituency, succumbed to injuries on February 21 at a private hospital in Gurugram, nearly three years after he sustained critical injuries in a mob attack at Nagamapal, Imphal, during the early days of the ethnic violence that erupted in Manipur. His passing was widely mourned across the state, with political leaders, civil society organisations, and community groups paying tribute to his contribution to public life.
Following his visit to the family, the Deputy Chief Minister also met representatives of the Zomi Coordination Committee (ZCC) at the Paite Tribe Conference Hall in Churachandpur. The meeting focused on issues concerning the late MLA's family, including the demands submitted by the committee and matters related to ensuring justice in connection with the attack on Valte.
According to officials, the discussions were held in a cordial atmosphere, with the Deputy Chief Minister listening to the concerns raised by the ZCC representatives and assuring them that their views would be conveyed to the appropriate authorities.

Speaking to the media after the meetings, Losii Dikho said his visit was primarily intended to express condolences to the bereaved family and stand in solidarity with them during a difficult period. He reiterated that the State Government would extend all possible assistance and support to the family while continuing efforts related to the issues raised concerning the late legislator.
The visit reflected the government's commitment to honouring the legacy of Vungzagin Valte and supporting his family, while reinforcing its resolve to address concerns through dialogue and constructive engagement.
