Aizawl, August 13, 2025: Chief Minister Pu Lalduhoma led a large-scale Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan (Drugs-Free India Campaign) rally in Aizawl today, bringing together over 600 school and college students from across the city.
The rally, aimed at raising awareness about the dangers of drug abuse, began from Chanmari and Sikulpuikawn and proceeded through key areas including Lammual. Participants carried placards promoting a drug-free lifestyle and pledged their commitment to the cause. Miss Vanlalnuntluangi, Miss Grand India, also joined in delivering the pledge.
Addressing the crowd, Chief Minister Lalduhoma highlighted Mizoram’s vulnerability to drug trafficking due to its proximity to the Golden Triangle and stressed the need for vigilance among citizens. He urged youths to avoid drugs, maintain personal discipline, and support the campaign to safeguard the state’s future.

The event was organized with support from Health Minister Khualzahawm Pi Lalrinpuii and Excise & Narcotics Minister Pu Lalnghinglova Hmar. The campaign is part of a nationwide initiative spanning 372 districts across India, aimed at reducing drug abuse through awareness, education, and community engagement over the next five years.
The Aizawl rally marked a significant step in mobilizing students, educators, and citizens to actively participate in the fight against drugs and promote a healthy, drug-free society.
