The programme was organised by the Directorate of Craftsmen Training, Manipur under the Skill, Labour, Employment and Entrepreneurship Department (SLEE) in collaboration with the Department of Information Technology, Government of Manipur. The initiative aimed to equip government officials and staff with the knowledge and practical skills required for the effective implementation and use of the e-Office platform in day-to-day administrative work.

Officials said the training programme forms part of the state's broader digital transformation strategy, which seeks to improve efficiency, transparency, accountability, and responsiveness in government functioning through the adoption of information technology.

During the programme, participants received comprehensive training on various features of the e-Office system, including digital file management, electronic correspondence, document processing, workflow automation, and online approval mechanisms. Trainers also demonstrated how the platform can simplify routine administrative procedures while ensuring faster movement of official files and improved coordination among departments.

The hands-on training sessions enabled participants to familiarise themselves with the practical operation of the system and understand how digital tools can replace conventional paper-based processes. Officials were guided on creating and managing electronic files, tracking file movement, maintaining digital records, and ensuring secure communication within government offices.

According to officials, the implementation of the e-Office system is expected to significantly reduce paperwork, minimise delays in processing official documents, and promote faster and more transparent decision-making across departments. The digital platform will also enhance record management, improve accountability, and facilitate easier retrieval of official documents whenever required.

The initiative is expected to contribute to better public service delivery by enabling government departments to process files more efficiently and respond to citizens' needs in a timely manner. Officials noted that digital workflows would not only improve administrative productivity but also reduce operational costs associated with traditional paper-based systems.

Officials stated that the e-Office initiative marks another important milestone in Manipur's journey towards digital governance. By promoting paperless administration, streamlined workflows, and technology-driven decision-making, the state government aims to create a more efficient, transparent, and accountable administrative system while enhancing the overall quality of governance and public service delivery.
