Awareness Programme on Silkworm Rearing Held at Andro Village Under MRMA Campaign

Imphal East, Aug 6, 2025: As part of the Mera Resham Mera Abhiman (MRMA) campaign, an Awareness Programme on Silkworm Rearing Technology was organised on August 5 at Andro Village, Nungkot, Imphal East, aiming to boost the socio-economic status of farmers through scientific and improved rearing practices.

The event was graced by Shri Robertson Asem, MCS, Director, Department of Sericulture, Government of Manipur, who highlighted the importance of adopting modern techniques and collaborative efforts to uplift the farming community.

Also present were Smt. Kh. Pratima Devi, Assistant Director & District Sericulture Officer; Shri Rabei Singh, Chairman of Andro Village; Dr. S. Subharani Devi, Scientist-D & Head, Central Silk Board – Regional Sericultural Research Station (CSB-RSRS), Imphal; and Dr. Kh. Subadas Singh, Scientist-D.

The technical sessions, which covered strategies to prevent crop failure and improve productivity, directly benefited 55 sericultural farmers in attendance. The programme underscored the government’s commitment to empowering rural communities through skill development and sustainable sericulture practices.
