The event is being organised under the Mission Organic Value Chain Development for North Eastern Region (MOVCD-NER) scheme and serves as a platform to showcase organically grown pineapples from Mizoram while connecting farmers directly with consumers, traders, and potential buyers. The initiative aims to improve market access, reduce post-harvest losses, and enhance the income of pineapple growers across the state.

Speaking at the inauguration, the Agriculture Minister highlighted the importance of organic agriculture in strengthening Mizoram’s rural economy. He said the Pineapple Bonanza has emerged as an important event for promoting the state’s organic produce and creating greater awareness about the quality and potential of Mizoram-grown pineapples. He also encouraged farmers to adopt improved harvesting, handling, and marketing practices to minimize wastage and increase profitability.

The four-day event, scheduled from August 6 to 9, features participation from organic farmer producer companies (FPCs) established under MOVCD-NER Phase IV. Among the participants are Raifan Organic FPC from Khawzawl district and Tuikum Organic FPC from Serchhip district. These farmer groups operate under the guidance of Mission Organic Mizoram (MOM), the State Leading Agency, in partnership with service provider Clover Organic Pvt. Ltd.
