Mizoram Agriculture Minister Launches 4th ‘Pineapple Bonanza’ to Promote Organic Farming

Aizawl, Aug 6, 2025: Mizoram Agriculture Minister Pu PC Vanlalruata today inaugurated the fourth edition of the Pineapple Bonanza at Millennium Centre, highlighting the need for greater promotion of organic produce in the state.

The event, organised under the Mission Organic Value Chain Development for North Eastern Region (MOVCD-NER) scheme, aims to boost market access for organically grown pineapples and enhance farmers’ income. Service provider Clover Organic Pvt. Ltd. has been facilitating such events to connect farmers directly with consumers and markets.

The Agriculture Minister said the Pineapple Bonanza not only showcases Mizoram’s organic produce to the world but also encourages farmers to minimise wastage and adopt better post-harvest practices.

Scheduled from August 6-9, the event features organic farmer producer companies (FPCs) from Khawzawl and Serchhip districts - Raifan Organic FPC and Tuikum Organic FPC - which have been formed under MOVCD-NER Phase IV. These FPCs operate under the guidance of Mission Organic Mizoram (MOM), the State Leading Agency, in collaboration with Clover Organic Pvt. Ltd.

By bringing together farmers, buyers, and consumers, the Pineapple Bonanza seeks to strengthen Mizoram’s organic value chain and create sustainable opportunities for local cultivators.
