Aizawl, July 2: Mizoram Chief Minister Lalduhoma on Thursday released the first-ever Annual Report of the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB), Mizoram for the year 2025–2026 at the Chief Minister's Conference Hall, highlighting the government's commitment to transparency, accountability, and good governance.
Speaking at the event, the Chief Minister welcomed the publication of the ACB's inaugural annual report, describing it as an important milestone in the state's efforts to promote integrity in public administration. He said the report would serve as a reminder to government employees of their responsibility to discharge their duties with honesty, accountability, and financial propriety.
Lalduhoma stressed that corruption remains one of the biggest obstacles to good governance and the overall development of Mizoram. He said combating corruption is not solely the responsibility of the Anti-Corruption Bureau but requires the active participation of every citizen and every government employee.
Emphasising the need for stronger anti-corruption mechanisms, the Chief Minister said the state government has strengthened both the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) and the Mizoram Lokayukta. He expressed confidence that officers and staff of the two institutions would continue to improve their professional capabilities in tackling corruption effectively.
According to the report, the ACB received 17 corruption-related complaints during 2025–2026. Of these, 15 complaints were taken up for Preliminary Enquiry, leading to the registration of six Regular Cases. During the same period, the Bureau completed 14 Preliminary Enquiries, including cases carried over from previous years, and disposed of seven Regular Cases.

The report also highlighted the Bureau's long-term achievements. Between 2010 and 2026, the ACB secured the conviction of 112 persons in 35 corruption cases that were charge-sheeted and tried before the Special Court under the Prevention of Corruption Act.
The programme was chaired by J. Lalthafamkima, IPS, Director of the ACB, who delivered the welcome address. Dr. Y.L.N. Reddy, IAS, Secretary of the Vigilance Department, delivered the keynote address, while Lalbiakkila, MPS, Superintendent of Police, ACB, proposed the vote of thanks.
