Aizawl, May 3, 2026: Giriraj Singh, Union Minister for Textiles, arrived in Aizawl on Sunday for an official visit aimed at reviewing developments in the sericulture, handloom, and handicraft sectors in Mizoram.

The Union Minister was received at Lengpui Airport by Lalduhoma, Chief Minister of Mizoram. Following his arrival, Singh proceeded to Lok Bhavan where he held a meeting with V. K. Singh, Governor of Mizoram, and senior officials from various government departments.
During the meeting, officials from departments including Sericulture, Cooperation, Agriculture, Handloom, and Handicrafts presented updates on their ongoing initiatives and development programmes in the state.

Later in the day, the Union Minister visited Lapar Seri Boutique in Kulikawn and Zozia Silk Emporium in Tlangnuam, where he interacted with entrepreneurs and stakeholders involved in the textile and silk sectors. He is also scheduled to meet members of cooperative federations, along with leaders and workers of the Bharatiya Janata Party.
On Monday, Singh will visit the Sericulture Farm at Zemabawk and the office of ZOHANDCO (Mizoram Handloom and Handicrafts Development Corporation). He is expected to interact with local weavers and experts and will also visit the Eri Farm at Lengpui before concluding his visit to Mizoram.
