Kolkata, May 4, 2026: Team Nagaland delivered a remarkable performance at the Kolkata Open Pickleball Championships, clinching a total of 11 medals, including 8 gold and 3 silver, drawing national attention to the state’s growing strength in the sport.

The highlight of the tournament was Vilasier Khate’s victory in the Advanced Men’s Singles, showcasing exceptional skill and reinforcing Nagaland’s rising prominence in pickleball.
Among the standout performers, Sonia Sarkar secured gold in the Intermediate Women’s Singles, while pairs such as Kabinlo & David (Men’s Doubles Beginner) and Elona & Lentina (Women’s Doubles Beginner) also bagged gold medals. In mixed events, Megotsolie & Elona and Lentina & David emerged victorious in their respective categories.

Vilasier Khate further added to the medal tally with a gold in Intermediate Men’s Singles and a silver in the 30+ category. Kabinlo & Imsuren also clinched gold in Advanced Men’s Doubles, while David & Tonoto and Alemyim & Lizavi contributed silver medals in their categories.
