Sikkim CM Prem Singh Tamang Congratulates New BJP Government in West Bengal

Kolkata, May 9: Sikkim Chief Minister Prem Singh Tamang-Golay on Friday congratulated Suvendu Adhikari and the members of his Council of Ministers following the swearing-in of the first Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP)-led government in West Bengal. Describing the occasion as a "historic moment," the Chief Minister expressed confidence that the new administration would usher in an era of development, good governance, and inclusive progress for the people of the state.

Tamang attended the oath-taking ceremony held in Kolkata, which was graced by Prime Minister Narendra Modi along with several senior political leaders, dignitaries, and invited guests from across the country. The ceremony marked a significant political milestone as the BJP assumed office in West Bengal for the first time after securing victory in the recently concluded Assembly elections.

In a statement issued after the ceremony, the Sikkim Chief Minister said he was honoured to witness the swearing-in of the new government. He extended his heartfelt congratulations to Chief Minister Suvendu Adhikari and all the newly inducted ministers, wishing them success in their responsibilities and public service.

Tamang described the formation of the new government as the beginning of a new chapter for West Bengal, expressing hope that the administration would work towards ensuring peace, economic growth, social harmony, and inclusive development. He said effective governance and visionary leadership would play a crucial role in creating new opportunities for the people and accelerating the state's progress.
