Arunachal CM Pema Khandu Hails BJP Government Formation in West Bengal

Kolkata, May 9: Pema Khandu on Friday termed the formation of a BJP government in West Bengal a “historic moment” in the political landscape of the country.

In a statement shared on social media, Khandu congratulated Suvendu Adhikari on taking oath as the first BJP Chief Minister of West Bengal and wished him a successful tenure focused on progress and good governance.

The Arunachal Pradesh Chief Minister also thanked Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah for their “visionary leadership and relentless efforts” that led to the BJP’s victory in the state.

Khandu described West Bengal as the “gateway to Eastern and North Eastern India” and said the mandate would pave the way for accelerated development, prosperity and a brighter future for the state.

He also expressed appreciation to the people of West Bengal for bringing what he called a “transformative change” through the electoral mandate.

The BJP formed the government in West Bengal following its victory in the recent Assembly elections, marking the party’s first time in power in the state.
