“Congratulations to Shri Suvendu Adhikari on taking oath as the Chief Minister of West Bengal. I wish him a successful tenure dedicated to the progress, prosperity, and welfare of the people,” Khandu stated.

He described their contribution as instrumental in achieving what he termed a historic political milestone for the BJP.

Khandu further expressed gratitude to the people of West Bengal for placing their trust in the BJP and supporting what he called a transformative change through the democratic process. He said the electoral mandate reflected the aspirations of the people for development-oriented governance and greater opportunities.

Describing West Bengal as the “gateway to Eastern and North Eastern India,” Khandu emphasized the state's strategic importance in the country’s economic and cultural landscape. The Chief Minister noted that a stable and development-focused administration in West Bengal would also benefit the wider eastern and northeastern region by enhancing regional cooperation, trade, and infrastructure growth.

The BJP’s victory in the recent Assembly elections marks the party’s first time forming a government in West Bengal, ending decades of rule by other political parties. Political observers have described the development as one of the most significant electoral shifts in the state’s history.
