Addressing the gathering, the Chief Minister highlighted the growing importance of yoga in modern times, noting that while technology has improved convenience, it has also contributed to rising mental health challenges. Emphasising the theme “Yoga for Mental Health,” he described yoga as a vital practice for achieving balance, harmony, and overall well-being.
Congratulating the trainees, Tamang encouraged them to use their skills to guide and support students in educational institutions. He reminded them that their role extends beyond teaching, calling it a responsibility toward nurturing healthier and more resilient communities.
The Chief Minister also reflected on the origin of yoga from the Sanskrit word “Yuj,” meaning union of body, mind, and spirit, and acknowledged the global recognition of yoga through the International Day of Yoga initiative.
