The meeting focused on the progress of key government schemes related to nutrition, child protection, women’s empowerment, social security, and welfare initiatives for persons with disabilities and other disadvantaged groups. Senior officials of the department briefed the Governor on ongoing programmes, achievements, challenges, and measures being taken to enhance service delivery across the state.
During the review, Governor Yadav emphasized the importance of ensuring that welfare schemes effectively reach the intended beneficiaries, particularly those living in remote and rural areas. He stressed that the success of social welfare programmes depends not only on policy formulation but also on efficient implementation and strong grassroots outreach.
Highlighting the need for greater public awareness, the Governor urged officials to intensify efforts to educate citizens about the various welfare schemes available to them. He noted that many eligible beneficiaries often fail to access government assistance due to a lack of information and awareness regarding available services and entitlements.
The Governor also stressed the importance of inter-departmental coordination, stating that collaboration among different government departments is essential for improving service delivery and achieving better outcomes. He encouraged officials to adopt a more integrated approach to addressing social welfare challenges and ensuring that benefits reach those most in need.
Particular attention was given to issues affecting persons with disabilities. Governor Yadav suggested organising village-level and block-level camps to facilitate disability certification and simplify access to welfare benefits. He observed that many individuals face difficulties in obtaining disability certificates due to geographical and logistical constraints, limiting their ability to avail government support.

He also highlighted the need for efficient monitoring mechanisms to track the implementation of welfare programmes and address gaps wherever necessary.
The review meeting reaffirmed the state government's commitment to strengthening social welfare delivery systems and promoting inclusive development. Officials noted that enhanced outreach, awareness campaigns, and improved coordination would play a key role in maximizing the impact of welfare schemes across Nagaland.
Governor Yadav concluded the meeting by urging all stakeholders to work collectively towards building a more inclusive and equitable society where government support reaches every deserving individual, particularly those living in vulnerable and underserved communities.
