The state-of-the-art facility has been established under the Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative of Bharat Forge Ltd., a leading global company in forging and defence manufacturing. The project has been implemented in collaboration with the School Education Department, Government of Mizoram, with SimuSoft Technologies serving as the technical partner responsible for setting up the centre, training programmes, and curriculum development.

The initiative traces its origins to the CSR workshop jointly organised in Aizawl in June 2025 by the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) and the CSR Cell of the Government of Mizoram.

The New Age Tech Skills Centre is the first school-level technology skills laboratory of its kind not only in Mizoram but across the entire Northeast region. The centre is designed to equip students with practical knowledge and hands-on experience in emerging technologies that are increasingly shaping modern industries.

Students will receive training in advanced fields including Artificial Intelligence (AI), Robotics, Internet of Things (IoT), 3D Printing, Computer-Aided Design (CAD), CNC Simulation, and Drone Technology.

Officials said the initiative aligns with the objectives of the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020, which seeks to integrate practical, industry-relevant skills into mainstream education. The centre aims to bridge the gap between classroom learning and real-world technological applications, preparing students for future careers in innovation-driven sectors.

During the programme, SimuSoft Technologies also officially launched specially designed AI curriculum materials and textbooks developed for school students.

The programme was chaired by Angela Zothanpuii, Director of School Education, and was attended by representatives from various educational and technical institutions.

The launch marks a significant milestone in Mizoram's efforts to modernise education and prepare students for the demands of the rapidly evolving digital economy.
