Aizawl, May 13: Mizoram Governor General (Dr.) Vijay Kumar Singh, PVSM, AVSM, YSM (Retd.), attended the first convocation ceremony of SDGI Global University in Ghaziabad, Uttar Pradesh, as the Chief Guest on May 12. The event marked a significant milestone in the history of the university as it celebrated its inaugural convocation and conferred degrees upon its graduating students.

Addressing the gathering, the Governor congratulated the university authorities, faculty members, students, and parents on the successful organisation of the institution’s first convocation. He described the occasion as a historic achievement for SDGI Global University and a proud moment for all those associated with its growth and development.
Speaking to the graduating students, Dr. Singh encouraged them to step into the next phase of their lives with confidence, determination, and a strong sense of purpose. He noted that education provides a solid foundation for success and urged the graduates to make the best use of the knowledge and skills they had acquired during their academic journey.
The Governor emphasized the importance of values such as discipline, hard work, perseverance, patience, and integrity in achieving long-term success. He advised the students to remain committed to their goals and continue striving for excellence regardless of the challenges they may encounter in the future.
“Success does not come overnight. It requires dedication, resilience, and a willingness to learn from both achievements and setbacks,” he said while motivating the graduates to pursue their ambitions with determination and optimism.
Dr. Singh also encouraged the students to approach future challenges with a positive mindset and confidence in their abilities. He remarked that the rapidly changing global environment presents both opportunities and challenges, and young graduates must be prepared to adapt, innovate, and contribute meaningfully to society.
Addressing parents and guardians present at the ceremony, the Governor acknowledged their sacrifices and support in helping students complete their education. He urged them to continue encouraging and guiding their children as they pursue higher goals and build successful careers.
The convocation ceremony was attended by K.K. Aggarwal, who graced the event as the Guest of Honour. University officials, members of the governing body, faculty members, students, and parents also participated in the programme.
Established on July 14, 2023, under the Uttar Pradesh Private University Act, 2019, SDGI Global University is managed by the Sundar Deep Educational Society, which has been actively involved in the field of higher education for over two decades.
The society currently operates educational institutions offering courses in a wide range of disciplines, including engineering, pharmacy, architecture, hotel management, law, education, commerce, management, and polytechnic studies. Together, these institutions serve approximately 5,500 students, contributing to the development of skilled professionals in various sectors.

The programme commenced with a welcome address delivered by Parsanjeet Kumar, who highlighted the university’s achievements and future vision. The event was also attended by Mahender Aggarwal, members of the university administration, academic leaders, and distinguished guests.
Officials described the first convocation as an important milestone that reflects the university’s commitment to academic excellence and holistic development. The ceremony celebrated not only the achievements of the graduating students but also the institution’s growing role in providing quality higher education.
