The exercise began with an intensive four-hour review meeting focused on assessing the ground realities, administrative functioning, and developmental challenges of several newly created districts. According to the Chief Minister, the first phase covered Kamle, Lower Siang, Pakke Kessang, Lepa Rada, Shi Yomi, Keyi Panyor, and Bichom districts.

The meeting brought together elected legislators, Deputy Commissioners, and Heads of Departments, who engaged in detailed discussions on key administrative issues affecting the districts. Particular attention was given to challenges related to manpower shortages, department-wise vacancies, infrastructure requirements, and policy matters requiring intervention from the state government.

Khandu said the review exercise is intended to provide a comprehensive assessment of each district’s preparedness in delivering government services and implementing development programmes effectively. The discussions also examined existing governance gaps and explored ways to improve coordination among departments to ensure better outcomes for citizens.

“The objective is to understand the specific needs and challenges of each district and address them in a systematic manner. Effective governance requires regular review, coordination, and timely intervention,” the Chief Minister stated.

He noted that newly created districts often face unique administrative challenges, including staffing shortages and infrastructure constraints, which can affect service delivery. Through the review process, the government aims to identify these issues and develop targeted solutions to strengthen district administration.

Khandu further announced that the district-wise review exercise will continue through Phase-II, Phase-III, and Phase-IV, eventually covering all districts of Arunachal Pradesh. The findings and recommendations from each phase will help the government formulate strategies to improve governance and accelerate development across the state.
