Imphal, May 8: Manipur Police and security forces carried out two separate operations on May 7, leading to the arrest of an active KNA(B) cadre in Churachandpur district and the seizure of suspected brown sugar in Senapati district.
According to Manipur Police, security forces arrested an active cadre of KNA(B), identified as Lalthangjohn, from the Zou Veng area under Churachandpur Police Station.
Police said the 38-year-old, a resident of Khaominthang village in Churachandpur district, was found in possession of one 9 mm pistol, one pistol magazine, seven live rounds of 9 mm ammunition and a mobile phone.

In another operation, security forces intercepted two vehicles at the T Khullen Naka checkpoint under Senapati Police Station and arrested three individuals identified as K. Dovile, Nemneilhing Haokip and Hengkhomang Haokip.
During the operation, authorities recovered 99 soap cases containing suspected brown sugar weighing around 1.140 kilograms.
Police also seized two vehicles - a Bolero and a Maruti Swift - along with Rs 30,300 in cash and four mobile phones from the possession of the accused.
Further investigation into both cases is underway.
