Manipur CM Yumnam Khemchand Attends Governor’s Unit Citation Ceremony

Imphal, May 6, 2026: Manipur Chief Minister Yumnam Khemchand attended the Investiture Ceremony for the Governor’s Unit Citation, 2026, held at the Palace Auditorium, MSFDS, Palace Compound in Imphal, where units of the security forces were honoured for their exemplary service.

The ceremony was graced by Manipur Governor Ajay Kumar Bhalla, along with ministers, MLAs, and senior civil and security officials. The event marked a significant occasion to formally recognise the contributions of security personnel in maintaining peace, security, and stability in the state.

During the ceremony, various units of the security forces were conferred with the Governor’s Unit Citation in recognition of their distinguished service, particularly in counter-insurgency operations. The awards highlighted the professionalism, discipline, and unwavering commitment displayed by the forces in challenging situations.

Addressing the gathering, Chief Minister Yumnam Khemchand expressed appreciation for the dedication and sacrifices of the security personnel, noting that their efforts play a crucial role in safeguarding the lives and interests of citizens across Manipur. He emphasised that the recognition serves not only as an honour but also as a motivation for continued excellence in service.
