Manipur CM Meets Corporators, Focuses on Strengthening Urban Governance

Imphal, May 5, 2026: Manipur Chief Minister Yumnam Khemchand on Tuesday held a meeting with a delegation of corporators led by Caretaker Mayor L. Lokeshwar Singh at the Secretariat to discuss strengthening urban administration at the grassroots level.

During the meeting, the Chief Minister reviewed key challenges arising from the expansion of municipal areas in Imphal, particularly the growing pressure on civic services such as sanitation and urban waste management.

Khemchand emphasized the need for efficient, responsive, and sustainable urban governance to meet increasing demands.
