Arunachal: Chowna Mein Inaugurates Abhedananda Bhavan, Commends Ramakrishna Mission’s Social Impact

Tirap, May 4, 2026: Deputy Chief Minister of Arunachal Pradesh Chowna Mein inaugurated a newly constructed boys’ hostel at the Ramakrishna Mission School, marking a significant step toward improving student accommodation in remote areas.

The hostel, named Abhedananda Bhavan, was formally opened at Narottam Nagar, enhancing the institution’s residential capacity and providing better facilities for students, particularly those from far-flung regions.

Addressing the gathering, the Deputy Chief Minister highlighted the school’s journey since its establishment in 1972, noting its emergence as a centre of value-based education. He also pointed out that students from the institution have excelled in national-level competitive examinations such as NEET and JEE.

Mein lauded the broader role of the Ramakrishna Mission in Arunachal Pradesh, especially in the fields of education, healthcare, and community service. He praised the dedication of the Mission’s monks in nurturing young minds and contributing to social development.

He further stated that the new hostel would provide a safe and comfortable learning environment, enabling more students to access quality education. Reaffirming the government’s commitment, he assured continued support to institutions working toward educational advancement and youth development.

The programme was attended by Ministers Pasang Dorjee Sona and Wangki Lowang, along with MLA Wanglin Lowangdong. Senior representatives of the Mission, including Swami Sarvalokananda and Swami Achyuteshananda, as well as students, monks, and local residents, were also present.
