Arunachal Panorama 2026 Celebrates Unity in Diversity at RGU; CM Khandu Joins Celebrations

Doimukh, May 5, 2026: The IX Edition of Arunachal Panorama 2026 commenced with great enthusiasm at Rajiv Gandhi University (RGU), Doimukh, bringing together students, artists, cultural groups, and visitors in a vibrant celebration of Arunachal Pradesh’s rich cultural heritage and tribal diversity.

The three-day festival, being held from May 5 to 7, is themed “Roots and Routes: In Diversity, We Rise as One.” The theme reflects the balance between preserving traditional values and embracing progress, while highlighting the collective identity of the people of Arunachal Pradesh.

Chief Minister Pema Khandu attended the inaugural programme and praised the festival for serving as a unique platform where the diverse cultures, traditions, and customs of the state come together in a spirit of unity and mutual respect. He said Arunachal Pradesh is home to numerous tribes and communities, each with its own distinct heritage, language, and traditions, making cultural preservation an important responsibility for future generations.

“It is heartening to witness our young generation embracing and carrying forward the legacy of their ancestors with such pride, passion, and dignity,” Khandu said while addressing the gathering.

The festival began with a traditional Deep Prajwalan ceremony performed in an indigenous style, symbolizing blessings from ancestors and reaffirming the importance of cultural identity. The ceremony set the tone for a celebration dedicated to preserving and promoting the state's rich cultural legacy.

One of the major highlights of the opening day was a colorful cultural parade featuring representatives from various tribes of Arunachal Pradesh. Participants showcased traditional attire, folk music, dance forms, and cultural practices, offering visitors a glimpse into the state's remarkable diversity.

Throughout the three-day festival, attendees will witness a variety of programmes, including traditional dance and music performances, exhibitions of indigenous arts and crafts, displays of ethnic cuisine, youth participation activities, and cultural competitions. These events are designed to encourage cultural exchange, strengthen community bonds, and provide young people with opportunities to engage with their heritage.
