Guwahati, May 5, 2026: With the counting of votes concluding, Assam has begun preparations for the swearing-in ceremony of the new Council of Ministers for 2026.

A high-level preparatory meeting was chaired by Chief Secretary Dr. Ravi Kota, IAS, along with the Director General of Police (DGP), Assam, to review arrangements for the upcoming ceremony.
Officials held detailed discussions on ensuring seamless inter-departmental coordination, strict adherence to established protocols, and efficient execution of all ceremonial and logistical arrangements.

Department-wise responsibilities were clearly outlined, covering key aspects such as programme scheduling, oath formalities, venue readiness, security arrangements, invitations, transportation, media coordination, and hospitality.
The Chief Secretary emphasised the need for precision, timeliness, and contingency preparedness to ensure the event is conducted smoothly and with dignity.
Senior officials from departments including Parliamentary Affairs, General Administration, Home & Political, Information & Public Relations, Public Works (Roads), Kamrup (Metro) district administration, and Lok Seva Bhawan attended the meeting.
Authorities said coordinated efforts are underway to ensure a well-organised and secure swearing-in ceremony following the conclusion of the electoral process.
