During the meeting, the Chief Minister reiterated the proposal to upgrade the Aizawl–Thenzawl road to a National Highway. Gadkari informed that a Detailed Project Report (DPR) is under preparation and that efforts are being made for early sanction.
Lalduhoma also requested strengthening of the Mamit–Bairabi NH-06 Spur, to which the Union Minister assured early approval, with project cost discussions already underway.
On the Vairengte–New Vervek NH-306A stretch, Gadkari stated that sanction would follow once necessary revisions in the state PWD proposal are completed.
The Chief Minister further sought upgrading of the NH-502 (Zero) to Siaha into a double-lane highway. The Union Minister advised the state to explore ways to reduce land acquisition costs, while assuring that the Ministry would expedite sanction.

Highlighting the importance of connectivity with Tripura, Lalduhoma raised the need for early sanction of funds for Teirei and Langkaih bridges on the NH-108/NH-44A route. Gadkari suggested submission of a modified DPR to facilitate swift approval.
The meeting also discussed one-time improvement of six key roads, previously part of National Highways but now neglected due to realignment. Gadkari assured that such roads would be resurfaced if found eligible.
Additionally, the Chief Minister proposed adopting concrete roads for better durability in Mizoram. The Union Minister noted that sourcing cement at lower cost through bulk arrangements could make this feasible, adding that officials are reviewing alternatives amid rising bitumen prices.
The meeting underscored a strong push by the state government to enhance road infrastructure and connectivity, particularly in remote and border areas of Mizoram.
