According to the advisory, all employers, contractors, and migrant workers must ensure proper registration to maintain safety, public order, and protect the rights of both workers and residents. A migrant worker is defined as any person not domiciled in Meghalaya but employed in any establishment within the state.
The order directs employers to register workers through the official online portal by submitting required documents such as Aadhaar, EPIC, or PAN card along with photographs. Alternatively, offline registration can be completed at the office of the Labour Department or the Deputy Labour Commissioner in East Garo Hills.
