Manipur CM Distributes Meritorious Awards, Urges Students to Focus on Skills and Discipline

Imphal, May 31, 2026: Manipur Chief Minister Yumnam Khemchand Singh attended the 26th Meritorious Award Distribution Ceremony for Class X and XII students at Ngakraba Mandap, Singjamei Chinga Mathak, Imphal, on Sunday, where he encouraged students to remain dedicated to their studies and make productive use of their time.

Addressing the gathering, the Chief Minister congratulated the award recipients and stressed that success in life depends not only on academic achievement but also on discipline, hard work, and effective time management. He said the meaningful and productive utilization of time is one of the most important habits that helps students achieve their goals.

Highlighting the demands of a rapidly changing and globalized world, Khemchand Singh urged students to complement their academic pursuits with skill development programmes. He said acquiring practical skills and staying informed about current affairs are essential for young people to remain competitive and contribute positively to society.

The Chief Minister also called upon students to maintain awareness of day-to-day developments around them and to actively engage in learning beyond the classroom.

During his address, Khemchand Singh appealed to the people of Manipur to resolve issues through dialogue and discussion rather than through road blockades and bandhs. He noted that such disruptions adversely affect daily wage earners, students, and educational institutions across the state.

The awards were presented to students who secured First Division results in the academic session 2025–2026 under the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE), the Board of Secondary Education, Manipur (BOSEM), and the Council of Higher Secondary Education, Manipur (COSEM).

The ceremony was organized by the Ngakraba Leirak Development Association (NGLDA) and was attended by members and senior members of the association, students, parents, and other distinguished guests.

The event celebrated academic excellence while encouraging students to pursue holistic development through education, skill-building, and responsible citizenship.
