In a clarification issued on May 8, the organisation accused a section of the media of “unprofessional and unethical reporting” after reports associated an individual arrested at Zoveng in Churachandpur district with KNA-B.
The group claimed that attempts were being made to link the arrested person with KNA-B without what it described as “credible or verifiable evidence.”
According to the statement, merely alleging that an individual had crossed into Myanmar or was suspected of association did not amount to proof of organisational affiliation with KNA-B.

The outfit further stated that such narratives, based on assumptions and anonymous claims, could create panic, confusion and suspicion among communities while damaging the image of the organisation.
KNA-B also reiterated that it was not engaged in activities within Indian territory and maintained that it remained committed to what it termed a democratic movement in Myanmar.
The statement urged media organisations and authorities to uphold factual accuracy and avoid spreading speculative narratives that could further destabilise the already fragile situation in the region.
The clarification was issued by the Ministry of Information and Publicity of KNA-B.
