In a statement issued on May 13, the organisation claimed that the area where the incident occurred was under heavy restrictions and security control, alleging that no Meitei individual had access to the location at the time of the attack.
“Dragging Arambai Tenggol into the matter is completely unfounded, unreasonable, and politically motivated,” the statement said.
The group accused “Kuki narco terrorists and their associates” of spreading false narratives and misinformation to manipulate public opinion and create unrest.
According to the statement, Arambai Tenggol has “no connection whatsoever, directly or indirectly,” with the killing or injury of innocent civilians in the incident.

The organisation further alleged that repeated accusations against the group were part of a deliberate propaganda campaign aimed at creating division and prolonging tensions in the state.
Arambai Tenggol also condemned what it described as “fabricated stories and agenda-driven propaganda,” asserting that such allegations were intended to mislead the public and inflame emotions amid the already volatile situation in Manipur.
The statement comes amid heightened tensions following the deadly ambush on church leaders and civilians travelling between Kotzim and Kotlen in Kangpokpi district, which has triggered widespread condemnation and competing claims from multiple groups and organisations.
Several civil society organisations, church bodies and political leaders across the Northeast have condemned the attack and demanded a thorough investigation into the killings.
