Siaha, April 28, 2026: Bandi Sanjay Kumar, Union Minister of State for Home Affairs, held a high-level interaction with district officials of Siaha through video conference from the MINECO Secretariat Conference Hall in Aizawl on Tuesday.

The meeting was attended by Deputy Commissioner of Siaha VL Hruaizela Khiangte along with heads of offices and officials of the Mara Autonomous District Council from the Deputy Commissioner’s Mini Conference Hall in Siaha.
Deputy Commissioner VL Hruaizela Khiangte gave a brief overview of the district, while the Superintendent of Police, Siaha highlighted the peaceful law and order situation and informed the Minister that strict vigilance is being maintained against illegal cross-border activities, including drug trafficking and arms smuggling.
Officials from various departments also apprised the Minister of ongoing government schemes, achievements and the challenges faced at the district level.
During the meeting, issues related to cross-border concerns, international trade, security, education and healthcare were discussed in detail.

Union Minister stressed the need for stronger coordination between the Assam Rifles, state police, district administration and village councils to ensure both security and welfare of border residents.
The Minister was originally scheduled to visit Siaha but had to hold the meeting virtually due to inclement weather.
He was accompanied by Andra Vamsi, IAS, Private Secretary to the Union Minister of State for Home Affairs, along with the Protocol Officer and other state officials.
