The ambulances were formally handed over at the office of the Chief Medical Officer (CMO), Pherzawl, by Tipaimukh MLA Ngursanglur Sanate, accompanied by his associates representing the people of the constituency. The programme was attended by health officials, community leaders, and local residents who welcomed the enhancement of the district's emergency healthcare infrastructure.
The newly acquired ambulances have been stationed at Patpuihmun Primary Health Centre (PHC) and Ankhasuo Primary Health Centre (PHC). Their deployment is expected to significantly improve emergency response capabilities by ensuring the timely transportation of patients to healthcare facilities, particularly during medical emergencies when every minute is crucial.
A special prayer ceremony was held during the handover programme. Rev. Laldinglien, Director of the Mission Department, dedicated the ambulances for public service and prayed for the safety of patients and healthcare workers. He expressed hope that the vehicles would serve communities effectively and reach even the most remote villages, including Hmarram, where access to emergency medical transport has often been a challenge.
Addressing the gathering, MLA Ngursanglur Sanate said the ambulances were secured to ensure that the people of Pherzawl have access to prompt, reliable, and quality emergency healthcare services. He noted that poor road connectivity and the district's rugged terrain make timely medical transportation essential for saving lives.

The ambulances are equipped with essential medical facilities, including a radiant warmer for newborn babies, enabling healthcare workers to provide immediate care to infants requiring specialised medical attention during transit. The vehicles will also support the transportation of critically ill patients, accident victims, pregnant women, and other emergency cases.
The addition of the two ambulances is expected to substantially strengthen the district's healthcare system by improving emergency response, reducing delays in patient transport, and enhancing medical services for thousands of residents across Pherzawl district. The initiative reflects ongoing efforts to improve healthcare infrastructure and ensure better access to essential medical services in one of Manipur's most remote regions.
