According to the NCA, the inauguration will take place through a virtual programme, marking an important milestone for the development of cricket infrastructure in Nagaland. The academy is expected to provide modern indoor training facilities for aspiring cricketers and enable year-round practice regardless of weather conditions.

The event forms part of a broader initiative to strengthen cricket infrastructure across the Northeast region. Reports indicate that the Prime Minister will virtually inaugurate several indoor cricket facilities in multiple northeastern states during the same programme, aimed at promoting sports development in the region.

Officials of the Nagaland Cricket Association said the facility in Dimapur will help nurture young talent and provide professional training opportunities for players from the state. The academy is expected to support coaching programmes, skill development camps and advanced practice sessions for both junior and senior cricketers.
