Thadou Inpi Manipur Leader Michael Lamjathang Criticises Govt Over Ongoing Violence

Imphal, April 8: Thadou Inpi Manipur General Secretary Michael Lamjathang Thadou has strongly criticised the Government of Manipur, accusing it of failing to curb violence in the state over the past five months.

Speaking to the media, Lamjathang described the state administration as irresponsible, alleging that it has not presented a clear roadmap to restore peace and normalcy in Manipur.

He further claimed that instead of taking decisive action against armed groups, the government has adopted an appeasement approach towards certain Kuki militant groups, which he said continue to fuel unrest and violence.

Lamjathang also demanded a strict military crackdown to identify and hold accountable those responsible for the killing of innocent children during the ongoing conflict.

Questioning the role of the United Kuki National Army, he asked whether the group was acting as an “agent of the government” and called for clarity regarding its position and activities.
