Gangtok, April 15: Shri Tempo Gyatso Bhutia was sworn in as Member (Law) of the Sikkim State Electricity Regulatory Commission (SSERC) during a ceremony held at the Office of the Chief Secretary in Sikkim on Tuesday.

The oath of secrecy and affirmation of allegiance to the Constitution was administered in the presence of Chief Secretary R. Telang, along with senior officials including the Secretaries of the Home, Power, and Law departments and officers of the Commission.
Officials said the appointment has been made under Section 89 of the Electricity Act, 2003, marking an important step in strengthening the regulatory framework of the state’s power sector.

The SSERC plays a key role in promoting transparency, efficiency, and fairness in the electricity sector while safeguarding the interests of consumers and other stakeholders.
Senior officials present at the ceremony congratulated Bhutia and expressed confidence that his expertise will contribute to the effective functioning of the Commission. The programme concluded with a vote of thanks.
