Tangkhul Community Expresses Gratitude to Nagas and Meiteis for Solidarity After Deadly Ambush

Imphal, April 25, 2026: The Central Working Committee (CWC) of the Tangkhul Naga Foothills Organisation (TNFO) has expressed heartfelt gratitude to Nagas across Nagaland, Manipur and beyond, as well as members of the Meitei community, for standing in solidarity following the deaths of two Tangkhul brothers in a recent attack.

In a statement issued on April 25, the organisation thanked individuals, communities and organisations for their prayers, support and unity during the difficult time after Lt. SW Chinaoshang and Lt. Yaruingam Vashum lost their lives in an ambush at TM Kasom.

The CWC said the solidarity and collective voice shown during the period of grief reflect the enduring strength of shared identity, brotherhood and mutual respect among communities.

The organisation also paid tribute to Naga Village Guard Lt. Horshokmi Jamang, who lost his life while safeguarding his people. TNFO said his sacrifice will remain a source of inspiration and a reminder of the responsibility to uphold peace and the well-being of communities.

TNFO further called on people to remember in their prayers the Naga Village Guard members who were injured in the incident and are currently undergoing treatment.

Reaffirming the importance of unity, the organisation urged communities to continue standing together with compassion and solidarity, emphasising that collective strength will help guide the people forward during challenging times.
