Sikkim Deputy Speaker Raj Kumari Thapa Welcomes Nari Shakti Vandan Adhiniyam

Gangtok, April 13: Deputy Speaker of the Sikkim Legislative Assembly, Raj Kumari Thapa, has expressed strong support for the Nari Shakti Vandan Adhiniyam, describing it as a historic step toward strengthening women’s representation in India’s democratic system.

Thapa said the landmark legislation reflects the country’s commitment to inclusive governance and aims to empower women to actively participate in decision-making at every level. She added that the reform marks a proud moment for the nation as it moves toward greater equality and opportunities for women in public life.

Highlighting the significance of the initiative, she stated that under the leadership of Narendra Modi, the Act represents a major milestone in India’s journey toward women-led development.

The Deputy Speaker also expressed gratitude to Prem Singh Tamang for his continued efforts to promote women’s empowerment in Sikkim. She noted that the state government has consistently created opportunities for women and strengthened their role across various sectors.
