The teenager, identified as Pani Ruth, had reportedly left her home between 7 pm and 8 pm following a disagreement with her parents. According to family members, she became emotionally distressed after being repeatedly advised and scolded during a discussion at home, prompting her to leave without informing anyone.

Preliminary inquiries revealed that the minor had been in contact with an individual through online platforms who allegedly promised to arrange a job for her in Mumbai. Influenced by the prospect of employment and the emotional turmoil she was experiencing, she reportedly decided to leave home and travel alone.

Sources said the girl had planned to travel from the Naharlagun-Gumto area to Guwahati by train before continuing onward to Mumbai. However, before she could execute her plan, authorities and concerned individuals managed to locate her near Tigdo Bridge. She was found safe and was subsequently reunited with her family.

Officials said the teenager later realized the risks associated with travelling alone and interacting with unknown individuals online. Her decision not to proceed further helped prevent a potentially dangerous situation.

The incident has once again highlighted the growing risks posed by online manipulation, fake employment promises, and cyber grooming targeting vulnerable young people. Police officials have urged parents and guardians to maintain open and supportive communication with their children, especially during emotionally challenging situations.

Authorities also advised young people to exercise caution while interacting with strangers online and to verify any employment or travel-related offers through trusted sources before taking action.

While the incident ended safely, law enforcement agencies stressed the importance of increasing awareness about cyber safety, online fraud, and the dangers of deceptive job offers. They called on schools, communities, and families to work together in educating children about responsible internet use and personal safety.

The successful recovery of the teenager has been welcomed by residents, with many expressing relief that the situation concluded without harm.
