Arunachal Pradesh Athletes Shine at 1st Khelo India Tribal Games 2026

Itanagar, April 13: Athletes from Arunachal Pradesh delivered an impressive performance at the Khelo India Tribal Games 2026, securing the 5th position among 30 participating states and Union Territories and emerging as the best-performing state from the Northeast.

The state’s contingent won a total of 11 medals, including 6 gold, 1 silver, and 4 bronze, showcasing exceptional talent, determination, and sporting excellence.

Chief Minister Pema Khandu attended the flag-in and felicitation ceremony for the athletes who represented the state at the historic sporting event held in Chhattisgarh.

Commending their achievements, Khandu congratulated the athletes, coaches, and officials for bringing pride and honour to the state. The strong showing by the Arunachal contingent highlights the growing sporting potential of the state and the wider Northeast region.
