Gangtok, April 13: Prem Singh Tamang chaired a high-level coordination meeting at Samman Bhawan to review preparations for the upcoming visit of Narendra Modi to Sikkim later this month.
During the meeting, the Chief Minister said the Prime Minister’s visit would be a moment of pride for the people of the state, as it will coincide with the closing ceremony marking the 50th anniversary of Sikkim’s statehood. He stressed that all arrangements should reflect the highest standards of efficiency, dignity, and hospitality.
Officials conducted a detailed review of preparations, including logistics, security arrangements, infrastructure readiness, and the overall programme framework. The Chief Minister directed all departments to maintain close coordination to ensure the visit is conducted smoothly and successfully.
Discussions also covered key projects expected to be inaugurated by the Prime Minister, along with foundation stone-laying ceremonies for several major initiatives across the state.

The meeting was attended by Cabinet Ministers, MLAs, the Chief Secretary, Heads of Departments, and senior government officials, who deliberated on logistical planning, security coordination, and timely execution of responsibilities.
According to the Chief Minister’s Office, the state government is working to ensure seamless coordination among departments while upholding Sikkim’s legacy of warmth and hospitality during the Prime Minister’s visit.
