Kohima, April 13: The Bharatiya Janata Party Mahila Morcha Nagaland unit held a press briefing at the BJYM state office highlighting the significance of the Nari Shakti Vandan Adhiniyam, which provides 33 percent reservation for women in legislative bodies.
The briefing was led by State President T. Rothrong, who described the legislation as a historic reform that marks a shift from women-led development to women-led governance.
She stated that the initiative, introduced under the leadership of Narendra Modi, represents a major step toward empowering women and strengthening their participation in the country’s democratic system.
As part of an awareness campaign, the BJP Mahila Morcha Nagaland will organize bike and scooty rallies and padyatras across districts on April 15. This will be followed by Mahila Sammelans on April 16, aimed at spreading awareness about the Act and encouraging greater participation of women in leadership and governance.
