Sikkim CM Tamang Expresses Gratitude to PM Modi, Citizens for Grand Welcome in Sikkim

Gangtok, April 27, 2026: Sikkim Chief Minister Prem Singh Tamang-Golay has expressed deep gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi for visiting the state despite his demanding schedule.

In a statement, the Chief Minister thanked the Prime Minister for travelling from Kolkata to Gangtok, saying his presence made the occasion special and was a great blessing for the people of Sikkim.

Tamang-Golay also thanked citizens from across the state who gathered early in the morning to warmly welcome the Prime Minister during his visit.

He expressed appreciation to office bearers and members of the Sikkim Krantikari Morcha (SKM) and the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), along with their various wings, including the Nari Wing, Youth Wing, Students Wing, Sports Wing, Contractor Wing and Culture Wing, for their participation in the programme.

The Chief Minister also acknowledged the contributions of the Speaker, Deputy Speaker, ministers, MLAs, advisors, chairpersons, political secretaries and other dignitaries of the Government of Sikkim.

Tamang-Golay further thanked the Chief Secretary, Director General of Police, officials of the state government, police and emergency services, as well as officers from the Government of India for their dedicated efforts in organising the event.

He also expressed gratitude to NGOs, social and spiritual organisations, representatives of the 21 communities, ex-servicemen, students, sportspersons, retired government employees, ASHA workers, Self-Help Groups and Anganwadi workers for their presence and support.

The Chief Minister invited citizens to attend the Prime Minister’s programme scheduled on April 28 at Paljor Stadium, urging people to gather in large numbers by 8:00 AM to listen to the Prime Minister’s address.
