Imphal, April 8: Security forces have intensified operations across Manipur following the Tronglaobi incident, leading to multiple arrests and recovery of arms, ammunition and narcotics from different districts.

In operations carried out in nearby areas of Churachandpur District, three suspected cadres of the United Kuki National Army (UKNA) were arrested. The arrested individuals were identified as Jampao Kuki, Sasang, and Paulallem Vaiphei.
Security personnel recovered one AK-47 rifle with a magazine and 25 rounds of ammunition, a pistol with two magazines and 15 rounds, ₹20,100 in cash, and two sacks of suspected narcotic contraband identified as raw opium weighing about 21.19 kg.
In a separate operation in the Molphei Tampak area of Churachandpur, forces recovered an MP-9 automatic rifle, a pistol with a magazine, two Lethode tubes, a locally made cannon (Pumpi), and five 70 mm cartridges.
Meanwhile, according to Manipur Police, security forces on April 6 recovered two 9 mm pistols along with documents and currencies of India and Myanmar from the general area between BP-72 and BP-73 near Yangoubung Village in Tengnoupal District.
On April 7, another cache of arms and explosives was recovered from Happy Land Village and adjoining foothill areas under Imphal East District, including a pistol, hand grenades, detonators, multiple magazines, a tube launcher, ammunition of different calibres, tear smoke shells and protective gear.

Security forces also arrested an alleged active cadre of the Kanglei Yawol Kanna Lup (KYKL), identified as Wairokpam Dilip Singh, also known as Sanajaoba, from Sangaiprou Mamang Leikai under Singjamei police station in Imphal West District. A .45 pistol with ammunition, two mobile phones, a vehicle, and identity documents were seized from his possession.
In another search operation between Salam and Luker villages under Patsoi police station in Imphal West district, forces recovered locally made guns, several pistols, ammunition, grenades and detonators.
Additionally, on April 8, security forces re-arrested Nepram Lemba Meitei, a cadre of the People's Liberation Army / Revolutionary People's Front, who had earlier escaped from police custody. He was apprehended from Langathel Mamang Leikai under Khongjom police station in Thoubal District.
Authorities said operations are continuing in vulnerable areas to maintain law and order and curb militant activities in the state.
