Tawang, April 9: Arunachal Pradesh Chief Minister Pema Khandu on Monday dedicated the upgraded Kitpi Mini Hydel Project (Phase–I) to the people of Tawang.

The ceremony was attended by Deputy Chief Minister Chowna Mein, MLAs Tsering Lhamu and Namgay Tsering, along with other dignitaries.
Located at Kitpi Village on the Nametrong River, the project is a small hydropower plant that generates electricity using the natural flow of water. The project has been re-rated from 3×500 kW to 2×750 kW, enhancing its efficiency and power generation capacity through better optimisation of resources.

Khandu said the upgrade would ensure a more stable electricity supply in the region while promoting the use of clean and renewable energy. The project is also expected to reduce dependence on other power sources and support sustainable development in the district.
