Shillong, April 9: Meghalaya Chief Minister Conrad K. Sangma on Tuesday met a team of kickboxers from the All Meghalaya Kickboxing Association (AMKA) who represented India at the Asia Pacific Open International Kickboxing Championship 2026 held in Bali.
The championship was organised by the World Kickboxing Association. The Meghalaya athletes delivered an impressive performance, winning a total of five medals - two gold, two silver and one bronze.
Sangma congratulated the young athletes during a meeting at his office and praised them for bringing pride to the state and the country. He also reaffirmed the state government’s commitment to supporting sports and encouraging youth to excel in different disciplines.

The Chief Minister said the government remains dedicated to nurturing sporting talent in Meghalaya and wished the athletes continued success in future competitions.
