Shillong, April 8: A newborn baby boy was found abandoned at the Out Patient Department (OPD) gate of Ganesh Das Hospital in Lawmali, Shillong, on 23rd March at around 8:25 PM.

According to an official notice, the infant has been placed under the care and protection of Lawei Baphyrnai Specialised Adoption Agency in Shillong. Authorities stated that any person or relatives having information about the child may contact the concerned offices and claim the child within 60 days from the date of publication of the notice.
If no claim is made within the stipulated period, the child will be declared legally free for adoption as per the existing procedures.

Officials from the District Child Protection Unit and the Child Welfare Committee have urged anyone with relevant information regarding the infant to come forward and contact the authorities.
Authorities said the child is currently safe and receiving proper care under the supervision of the adoption agency.
