Aizawl, April 18: A marathon titled “Run for Nutrition” was organised on Saturday evening at the MINECO Open Gym as part of the nationwide Poshan Pakhwada 2026 campaign, with 624 participants taking part in the event.
The marathon was organised jointly by the Women & Child Development Department and the A-City Run Club to promote awareness on the importance of proper nutrition and healthy living.
Before the race, all participants took a pledge to prioritise healthy and hygienic food habits for better health. The pledge was administered by Zoramthangi Chhangte. Following the pledge, the participants were flagged off by Zonunthari.
The marathon featured three categories - Women (Open), Men (Open) and Sub-Junior.
In the Women (Open) category, H. Ngohlaso secured first place, followed by Lalrinhlui in second place and Lalhmangaihzuali in third.
In the Sub-Junior category, Ricky Tlangthangpuia finished first, while Benjamin Vanlalpeka and Lalsangzuala secured second and third positions respectively.
In the Men (Open) category, Lalnunmawia clinched the top spot, followed by T Beimokha in second place and Lalkaisanga in third.

Officials said the event aimed to encourage physical fitness while spreading awareness about nutrition and healthy lifestyles among the public.
