The meeting provided an opportunity for the Governor to interact with representatives of the association and learn about their ongoing initiatives aimed at strengthening the voluntary blood donation movement in Nagaland. Members of VBDAN briefed him on various awareness campaigns, blood donation drives, and outreach programmes being conducted to encourage more citizens to donate blood regularly.

During the interaction, Governor Yadav commended the organisation for its dedication to a cause that saves lives and supports patients in times of medical emergencies. He noted that voluntary blood donors play a crucial role in strengthening healthcare services by ensuring the availability of safe blood for those in need.

The association also highlighted its efforts to improve access to blood donors through technology. Members informed the Governor about the development of the Blood Donors App, a digital platform designed to connect patients and hospitals with voluntary blood donors during emergencies. According to the association, the app aims to provide quick and timely access to donors, reducing delays in critical situations where blood is urgently required.

Appreciating the initiative, the Governor said technological innovations can significantly enhance the efficiency of blood donation networks and help save more lives. He encouraged the association to continue leveraging modern tools to strengthen its outreach and service delivery.

An active blood donor himself, Yadav stressed the importance of leading by example and inspiring others to contribute to society through voluntary service. He urged citizens, particularly the youth, to come forward and participate in blood donation drives, describing blood donation as one of the simplest yet most meaningful ways to help fellow human beings.
