The allegations were made during a press conference held at the Aizawl Press Club, where senior MPCC leaders outlined what they described as serious irregularities in the land acquisition process. Addressing the media, MPCC General Secretary Lallianchhunga claimed that several legal provisions may have been violated during the acquisition of land intended for use by the Indian Air Force in the vicinity of Lengpui Airport.
According to Lallianchhunga, the land acquisition process was facilitated through approvals allegedly granted by Chief Minister Lalduhoma and Revenue Minister B. Lalchhanzova. He alleged that these approvals enabled the Indian Air Force to proceed with the purchase of the land in question.
The Congress leader further claimed that official files relating to the acquisition were processed at an unusually rapid pace, allegedly to facilitate the transaction. He contended that the process resulted in compensation amounting to approximately ₹117 crore being paid to Henry Lalremsanga of Hlawnmual.
Describing the case as potentially one of the biggest corruption-related controversies in Mizoram, the MPCC expressed concern over what it termed a lack of transparency and accountability in the handling of public resources and land acquisition procedures. Party leaders argued that the scale of the compensation and the circumstances surrounding its approval warrant close scrutiny by competent authorities.
The Congress party maintained that several questions remain unanswered regarding the valuation of the land, the procedures followed during the acquisition process, and the manner in which compensation was assessed and disbursed. Party representatives said these issues must be examined through an impartial and comprehensive inquiry.

MPCC leaders stated that the party would continue to pursue the matter and seek greater transparency regarding the transaction. They emphasized that public confidence in government institutions depends on accountability and adherence to established legal and administrative procedures.
The party also reiterated its demand for a thorough investigation into the alleged irregularities and said that any individual found responsible for wrongdoing should face appropriate legal action. According to the MPCC, ensuring accountability in the matter is essential not only for addressing the specific allegations but also for maintaining public trust in governance and public administration.
The Congress leaders stressed that their concerns were based on the need for transparency and proper use of public funds, adding that the party would continue to raise the issue through democratic and legal channels until all relevant facts are brought before the public.
The allegations come amid ongoing public discussion surrounding the Lengpui land compensation issue, which has attracted considerable attention in Mizoram due to the substantial amount involved. As the controversy continues to unfold, the matter is expected to remain a subject of political debate and public interest in the state.
