The scheme offers financial incentives to candidates who clear key stages of the civil services examination. Under the programme, aspirants who qualify the UPSC preliminary examination will receive a grant of ₹50,000, while those who clear the mains examination will be awarded ₹1 lakh.
Speaking at the launch, Sangma said the initiative is designed to ease the financial burden associated with preparing for the highly competitive exams, particularly for students from the state who often face limited resources during their preparation for the Indian Administrative Service (IAS) and other central services.
The Chief Minister also expressed concern over the declining representation of indigenous candidates from Meghalaya in the central services. He noted that the state has not produced an indigenous IAS officer since 2013.

Eligible aspirants will be able to apply for the scheme through the portal of the Meghalaya Administrative Training Institute once the application window opens.
Urging the youth of the state to remain dedicated to their goals, the Chief Minister assured that the government will continue to support aspirants as they work toward joining India’s civil services.
